Blue Larimar Specimen (The Atlantis Stone)

$1,200.00
  • Locality: Filipinas Mine, Los Chupaderos, Barahona Province, Dominican Republic

  • Chemical Formula:

    NaCa₂Si₃O₈(OH) (Pectolite with Copper inclusions)

Physical Description & Formation

Larimar is a rare, gem-quality variety of pectolite found in only one square kilometer in the mountainous, rainforest region of the Dominican Republic. It formed millions of years ago when hot, mineral-rich volcanic fluids surged through cavities and fractures in basaltic lava flows. As these hydrothermal solutions cooled, fibrous aggregates of needle-like pectolite crystals grew inward from the walls of the cavities, filling them to create dense, solid nodules.

While common pectolite is typically white or gray, Larimar’s famous sky-blue, turquoise, and deep ocean hues are the direct result of copper substituting for calcium within the crystal lattice. The distinct, dramatic white webbing patterns that resemble sunlight dancing on shallow Caribbean waters are composed of calcite veins and pure white pectolite running through the stone.

Metaphysical Properties

  • The Frequency of Water and Sky: Larimar beautifully marries the throat and heart chakras, acting as a powerful tool for clear, compassionate communication and authentic self-expression.

  • Emotional Serenity: Known as a profound emotional soothing stone, it cools hot tempers, diffuses stress, and dissolves the fiery walls of anxiety, replacing them with a deep sense of tranquil inner peace.

  • Grid Positioning: Because of its high-vibrational, flowing energy, Larimar is an incredible focal stone for sacred geometry grids—particularly when working with the Vesica Piscis or Flower of Life layouts to manifest fluid creativity, harmony, and connection to ancient oceanic wisdom.
